a blanket of prayers!

I want to take a minute or two and tell you how the last two missionary conferences we attended went. As you know (if you've been reading our "blog") we had the opportunity to speak at the New Covenant Church of God in Cleveland, TN on March the 18th. We were very blessed to be "picked up" by the congregation! I know that this particular church doesn't contribute heavily to missions, but it is nice to know that they are going to help us out financially to conduct our life-saving and evangelistic mission in Nicaragua...every little bit helps!

We also had the opportunity to speak at the Westminster, SC church of God last weekend. We had one of the finest meals ever prepared on Saturday night. The church actually made food from a cross section of the entire world. I don't think ANY country was left out. There was a display of flags, and each dish at the meal was labeled with what it was, and which country typically prepared that dish. It was astounding how much attention to detail was taken by the blessed congregation at the Westminster Church of God! Carolyn and I were given the opportunity to speak on Saturday night at length to share our mission with these devout people. Missions involvement is new to this particular church, so please keep them in your prayers as their church grows and prospers through this new (for them) ministry. The Westminster church of God has also given our ministry a faith promise of support. I know that the congregation in Westminster is wondering where the support will actually come from, as they are a "smallish" church...but WE know where it will come from, don't we? Please, please, please...keep their faith promise in prayer as they work to live up to their faithfulness in God's power to provide.

On April the 2nd, Carolyn and I are meeting with Jim and Anita Chamberlain and their Monday night bible study to present our mission in Fernandina Beach, FL. We are developing a new friendship with Pastor Jim and Sister Anita. We have "hit it off" right away, and pray that our friendship and relationship will grow and strengthen throughout the upcoming year(s).

On April the 3rd (or 4th, or 5th) we are meeting with Pastor Johnny Johnson in Ocala, FL. This will be our first meeting with Pastor Johnson, although we have spoken on the phone several times...again we ask your prayers for this meeting.

On April the 21rst, Carolyn and I will be speaking at the Dayton area missions banquet, in Dayton, TN. This date is the first weekend we have available due to commitments at our workplace. We beg your intercessory prayers that we will have the blessings of our Lord as we step out in faith there also.

If anyone knows of a church, organization or business that is interested in supporting missions, please contact us and we WILL make contact.

There are many things in our lives, and our ministry which we need your intercessory prayers for...a few of them are:

Carolyn's mother (she is battling cancer)
The sale of our ministry's Piper Aztec
The sale of our home
The purchase of a mission specific airplane
Raising the shipping cost for the donated Avion Travel Trailer
And many, many more things...perhaps you can tell us what they are?

We crave contact with each and every one of you.....

Preparations, planning, and Faith

As we get down to the final phases of "clearing the boards" for our move to Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua...we find our faith has increased. Thank God for the increase of faith, because there is so much to be done. It is a bit overwhelming.

We have watched as God has continued to bless our ministry at an increasing pace as the time has come nearer and nearer. You have seen God's actions in your lives, so you know the "telltale signs" that God has ordered the universe around you. Those signs are ever-present lately in our lives. What a good feeling it is to be able to see His presence in our lives.

If you are new to receiving Casa de Servicio's "blog", then please take a few minutes and read the past posts here. (http://www.casadeservicio.org/blog) Some of the entries may not be totally interesting, but they ARE at least informative. There is also an entry that contains our itinerary for the next month or so, and a probable timeline of our move to Nicaragua. It is all interesting to Carolyn and me of course.

We pray that God will richly bless YOUR lives, as we all seek the face of the Lord.

Sunday, New Covenant Church of God, Cleveland, TN

Well, here we go ...off and running for the next two months. Our busy schedule begins on Sunday (two days from now) at the New Covenant Church of God, in Cleveland, TN. We will speak briefly on Sunday morning (service starts at 10:30am) during the service and will have the time during the evening service to fully present our mission to the congregation.

Please keep our efforts in your prayers.

Carolyn and I will be putting our house up for sale next week also...we are investigating the possibility of renting it out, but will most likely just sell it. PLEASE keep this in your prayers also. By the end of next month, we plan on actually LIVING in the donated travel trailer. We are not looking forward to taking the accumulated baggage of the last fifteen years of our lives and trying to jam them into a 32' travel trailer. I think a HUGE garage sale is in order. We will try to cut things down to the bare necessities, keeping in mind that our mission in Nicaragua will require things like construction tools etc.

As we get closer and closer to our permanent move to Nicaragua we are seeking iput from others that we are in contact with. We are open (as always) to advice about what to expect and things to avoid...please take a moment or two to contribute YOUR wisdom to our mission. We will very much appreciate it.
