What a privilege

Hi Folks,

I had the good fortune to meet the supervisor of Central America a few months ago, Brother Aldana.  During dinner with the Nicaraguan national overseer, Brother Antonio, ... Brother Aldana invited me to attend the leaders conference in Managua with him and ALL the leaders in Central America, for the Church of God.

What a blessing and a privilege it is to be here!  Good has moved in our ministry in many ways, and I believe that allowing me to be here is another of his mercies.  I thank God for the chance to be here and to interact with these strong men and women of God.

We just finished our evening service, where we participated in the "Santa Cena" ceremony...we took communion together.  It was very moving.

Please remember to keep our ministry in your prayers, and to speak of the Miskito people to the Lord when you pray.

God bless you!

 Richard

A huge blessing is on the horizon!

Hi Folks,

I am back in Nicaragua tonight.

We have tentatively planned to reposition the Avion travel trailer that was donated to our ministry to Nicaragua in Mid-August.

    Hallelujah!

We plan to drive the Avion down to Nicaragua just after the General Assembly of the Church of God, from San Antonio.  It is a big trip, and we are very excited about making it.  Some friends will be coming along, we will want your prayers for safety and peace.

I have been praying and wondering, and praying about that trailer for about a year now.  Thank God that we finally see a way to get the full potential out of this home.  In Puerto Cabezas.

Fw: How many of you shop online.doc

The following was sent out by Rusty Postell. I am forwarding it to our email list.

Richard

Shop Online and help support Casa De Servicio

Richard and Carolyn Becton

Because of the rising prices in gasoline and peoples' busy schedules, there are more and more people shopping online. In fact, it is now a 4.2 trillion-dollar industry just in the U.S. alone.

It has been an honor to donate a "Deluxe Website" with OurGV Rewards to Richard and Carolyn Becton for the purpose of helping them raise the necessary funds to operate on the mission field.

This website has a multi-million dollar shopping mall with over 1,000 name brand stores like Walmart, Target, Ebay, BassPro, Macy's, Old Navy, GAP, Dell, Home Depot and Office Max, on and on...Each online store in the mall has individually negotiated a rebate percentage with OurGV, and with each purchase, OurGV pays out a portion of that rebate to Heidi Search Center.

Chad Saparrio, our CEO, has come up with this ingenious concept: online stores are helped by having more shoppers and non-profit organizations are helped with funds raised from the rebates. It's a win-win situation!!

It's so simple..you shop and the Becton's get a generous 80% of each store's rebate on each purchase. Actually right now until May 31, our CEO is offering a bonus of 50% more added to the 80%. So until the end of the month, the percentage of rebates going to Richard and Carolyn is a whopping 130% for each purchase!!!

How is it done? You go to http://www.casadeservicio.org/ website and click on the banner at the bottom of the first page. That link will take you to the Becton's shopping mall. Do as much shopping as you can. Think of all the special birthdays, graduation gifts, Father's Day gifts, Anniversaries, even early Christmas gifts you can purchase.

a change in plans.

Hi Folks,

It is GREAT to be visiting Carolyn in the United States right now!  I AM THRILLED. We have decided that it is necessary to make a visit to the east coast while I am in the States.

So, on Sunday morning, Carolyn and I are going to be driving from Phoenix to the east coast.  We will very likely spend at least ONE DAY in Tennessee, and perhaps several days in Florida.

I am leaving back to Nicaragua on the 26th of this month, to attend the regional convention in Managua, and then back out to Puerto Cabezas on either the 30th or the 31rst of this month.

Those of you that are "in our path", San Antonio, Dallas, etc.  May very well expect a visit (albiet, a VERY BRIEF one).  We hope to say hi to several people in Texas as we pass through, and in Tennessee and Florida too.

Anyone else that wants us to "stop by", please let us know and we will try to plan on doing that.  We have a little bit of flexibility in our plans.

God bless!

visiting the US

Hi Folks,

     Another (short) blog today.

I am visiting Carolyn tomorrow in the United States.  If anyone needs to reach me for the next two weeks, you can call me at:  423 544-8316  (anytime after Tuesday...noonish).

There has been a LOT going on in Puerto Cabezas lately, with our ministry.  I recently met a man who may be able to help, if not solve, the problem we have had with being able to get AvGas in Puerto Cabezas.

This man has a partner that owns a ship.  This partner wants to bring gasoline to Puerto on a regular basis.  He will include AvGas.  The problem is the many hurdles that have to be surmounted to authorize this man to begin shipping to Puerto.  Please keep this in prayer, as it would be A BIG BOOST to our ministry to be able to have gasoline in Puerto Cabezas.

     God's blessing, all!

Richard

A new program, let us see how it works

Hi Folks,

We have joined our good friends Rusty and Joy Postell in a new program which they told us about.

The program is called OurGV rewards, it is a shopping program.

We encourage you to make your purchases online, through our website, for discounts and to support our mission in Nicaragua.

The link to our "shopping mall" is: www.ourgvmall.com/casadeservicio There is also a link on our webpage, at the bottom.

An excerpt:

To get you off to a great start and keep your fundraising dollars coming, just follow the simple step-by-step checklist below:
  1. Go to your fundraising shopping mall www.ourgvmall.com/casadeservicio Take advantage of the amazing offers and savings - shop at any of the 1000+ retail stores.  (WalMart, Office Depot, DELL, E-bay, Hickory Farms….)  Remember each and every purchase made through shopping Mall means cash back to Casa de Servicio.

  1. Spread the Word!  Shop and Fundraise!  Tell your family, tell your friends, tell everyone you know that they can save time and money and raise funds for Casa de Servicio by shopping on your website.  Let people know how easy it is!  Go to www.ourgvrewards.com/casadeservicio and shop.   Expanding the number of shoppers at your Shop & Fundraise website is easier than you may realize. There are many friends and family members who might not be active supporters or members of your Non-Profit organization; yet, if they knew of a simple way to help a good cause, they would likely do so. After all, they are already making purchases at many of the 1000+ stores in the Mall!

  1. What are you shopping for next?  Think of something you are already buying now (i.e. your office supplies).  Make your list and go to www.ourgvmall.com/casadeservicio.  Order your supplies and know that you have just raised funds for your organization.  Remember, initially the majority of the shopping to support your organization will come from your own membership's personal shopping.  As your organization gains momentum with its shopping and its communication to your members about the shopping, word spreads and your circle of supporters gets bigger and bigger.

  1. Non-Profit Spotlight Award – Strive to achieve the Non-Profit Spotlight Award.  This Award is bestowed upon the Non-Profit organization who produces the most shopping volume during recent weeks.  It showcases the Non-Profit organization and brings visibility to your cause through various forms of media.  OurGVRewards.com promotes this Non-Profit and encourages all of its shoppers to consider the value of making their next shopping purchase at your non-profit's Shopping Mall.  This is a very powerful initial goal and helps to propel the Casa de Servicio name into the spotlight.
Please join us in praying for success through this new service!
